Fitchburg falls to Green Mountain, 8-3

HAVERHILL, Mass. – The Fitchburg Huskies were ousted from the Empire League Playoffs after suffering an 8-3 loss to No. 4 Green Mountain Saturday morning in Haverhill in the double-elimination tournament.

Seventh-seeded Fitchburg trailed, 2-0, after the first period and 5-2 after two. The Huskies were also outshot, 40-21, in the game.

Matt Rasimowicz (goal, assist), Ole Setsaas (goal, assist) and David Kiss scored for Fitchburg, while Blair Bigwood dished off two helpers. Matt Snell turned away 32 shots.

The Huskies finished their season with a 17-23-2 record. Green Mountain is 23-16-4.
